Background of NFY

The Education Authority Launched a Pilot ‘Network for Youth’ initiative in October 2016.

The Network for Youth is a model for strengthening participation in the youth service at a local, sub-regional and regional levels; and is being lead by the NI Youth Forum in partnership with Youth Action NI; Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster; Include Youth and Fóram na nÓg. The Network for Youth is open to and inclusive of Participation Structures from across the voluntary and controlled youth service.

Northern Ireland Youth Forum, alongside partners, are working hard on this very exciting pilot which will create a space for young people to have a voice, promote partnership working and provide an opportunity for young people to come together on a regional level. Network for Youth is being driven by a youth steering panel – ensuring that the model is entirely youth led.

We will be running 5 sub regional ‘have your says days’ between now and March as well as a Regional ‘youth voice festival’ in March.
